The being known as SOUL, an alien from another dimension, arrived to earth to grant extraordinary powers to a select group of worthy children.
His true motives remain a mystery, though he has revealed one purpose - these newly gifted heroes are chosen to
protect the children of Earth from an evil being known as MISTER FOE.
From time to time, SOUL appears to offer guidance to the team, reminding them that he cannot take part in the battles himself. His role is to guide them from a distance, watching over their journey from beyond.
Ten-year-old Shakur Dupree, also known as AFROBOY, is a powerhouse of a hero. He has the strength of 20 men and can fly at high rates of speed. AFROBOY also wields the Almighty Fist of Power, a huge fist of pure energy that extends from his hands that can cause damage, or protect like an indestructible shield.
The main thing that empowers this hero is his belief that every kid is capable of doing the impossible as long as they have faith.
SPARK, affectionately nick-named "Puffgirl" is a stick of dynamite that explodes every time she steps on the scene!
Her actual name is Tatiana Dupree, and she's AFROBOY's little sister. This little nine-year-old dynamo has the power to shoot lightning from her hands and can fly by surfing on lightning bolts that she generates in front of her. SPARK can form a dome of electricity around herself or anyone else.
Most of all, she has the tenacity of a honey badger when it comes to fighting for the protection of all girls.
Twelve-year-old Enya Quinn is a nationally ranked basketball star from Philadelphia. She's fierce on the court, but as her heroic alter ego, SIMMER, she's absolutely blazing. Gifted with the power to control fire and heat, SIMMER can fly, absorb flames, and unleash them with enough intensity to melt metal.
Ironically, Enya struggles with a quick temper - something she's learning to control before it
"lights her fuse." Despite her fiery attitude,
she's deeply caring and always leads with a warm heart.
Eleven-year-old Mateo Del Toro was often teased
at school because of his last name, which means "of the bull." Other kids mocked him for being small and quiet. But one night, SOUL appeared to Mateo and transformed him into YOUNGBULL.
Now, Mateo can run at incredible speeds and unleash powerful bursts of strength strong enough to smash through walls and topple massive objects. YOUNGBULL uses his power with purpose - standing up for kids who are bullied and encouraging bullies to change their ways and treat others with kindness.
Mei Williams is a ten-year-old girl with a creative spark and a compassionate heart. Her father is African American, and her mother is Japanese -
a blend of cultures that inspires her artistic imagination.
When the celestial being SOUL selected her as one of the six chosen heroes, Mei was transformed into ORIGAMI. Her suit is made of a mysterious, living paper-like material. By tearing off a sheet and folding it at lightning speed, ORIGAMI can create an origami figure that springs to life for a short time, carrying out her commands before returning to paper. Origami combines acrobatics and parkour to outmaneuver her foes.
Her name, Mei, means "life" in Japanese - a meaning she embodies every day, vowing to protect and cherish all life wherever she goes.
Shamar Burrell age eleven, was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and moved with his family to Philadelphia when he was six. Gifted with an incredible knack for technology and electronics, Shamar caught the attention of SOUL, who granted him a unique ability.
When he powers up, Shamar becomes DIGIT - short for Digital. As DIGIT, he can transform into pure energy and travel directly into the World Wide Web or any electronic device. From there, he can instantly teleport anywhere on Earth, appearing in computers, video games, or cell phones to stop online predators, bullies, and cyber-criminals.
DIGIT hopes to teach SPARK how to convert into pure electricity and travel through power lines - but she's not too
excited about the idea.
Above all, DIGIT is passionate about helping kids stay safe
online and promoting positive digital behavior.
